Always intimate and moving, Fauré’s Requiem is paired opposite a new commissioned work by composer Mohammed Fairouz titled Zabur. This world premiere performance features the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Children’s Choir and guest soloists performing a new setting of the ancient Psalm text, re-imagined in the contemporary Middle East.

To learn more about the commissioning process of Zabur by Mohammed Fairouz (“One of the most talented composers of his generation” – BBC News) click here or visit the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir’s blog. With a libretto by noted author Najla Said (Looking for Palestine: Growing Up Confused in an Arab American Family), Zabur unites artists of prose, music composition and music interpretation in one of the first city-wide commissions for the 13th largest city in the United States.
