Experience the Magic of Festival of Carols—Indianapolis’ Most Beloved Holiday Tradition

There’s something special about the moment the lights dim and the first notes of Festival of Carols fill the air. It’s the sound of Indianapolis; voices joining in harmony, familiar melodies that stir memory and joy, and an audience that feels more like family than a crowd.

Each year, the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir transforms the stage at The Palladium and Schrott Center for the Arts into a holiday wonderland. This year’s Festival of Carols, taking place December 19 through December 22, promises to be more spectacular than ever—and the best seats are already going fast.

A Cherished Holiday Tradition

Under the direction of Dr. Eric Stark, the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir and Festival Orchestra will fill the hall with both beloved classics and exciting surprises. Returning guest vocalist Bruno Sandes brings his powerful voice to the stage, while Keyboard Artist David Duncan will once again invite the audience to participate in the fun through the crowd-favorite “Battle of The Carols” segment.

Expect the timeless favorites—from Santa, The Grinch, to the triumphant Hallelujah Chorus; alongside a few new arrangements designed to make this year’s concert feel fresh and full of joy.

“Festival of Carols reminds us why we gather in song: to slow down, to remember, and to connect,” says Dr. Eric Stark, Artistic Director. “In a season that often moves too fast, this music invites us to breathe, to feel, and to celebrate together.”

New This Year: Walk & Talk with Sampson Levingston

Before the December 19 and 21 performances at The Palladium, audiences can enjoy an all-new pre-concert experience, a Walk & Talk with Sampson Levingston and Through2Eyes.

Known for his engaging historical storytelling, Sampson will lead a guided conversation through the heart of Carmel’s arts corridor, sharing stories about the intersection of music, place, and culture. It’s the perfect way to deepen your connection to the music and start your evening on a meaningful note.

“Each performance is an opportunity to connect through shared experience,” says Jennifer Cooper, Executive Director of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. “Festival of Carols invites our community to gather in joy and reflection—a tradition that continues to fill our city with hope, harmony, and the true spirit of the season.”

While there’s no bad seat at Festival of Carols, the best seats do sell out quickly! Families who attend every year know to reserve early to guarantee their favorite view of the Choir and Orchestra. Whether you’re planning a family outing, a date night, or a gift for someone special, these performances sell out year after year. Tickets are on sale now for all four Festival of Carol performances:

  • Friday, December 19 | 8:00 PM | The Palladium

There are holiday concerts, and then there’s Festival of Carols. For nearly nine decades, the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir has brought people together through song, illuminating the season with beauty, hope, and a sense of community.
