January 2027 brings a rare treat with a pair of performances by Maurice Ravel’s exotic score to the ballet Daphnis and Chloe (Daphnis et Chloé). Scored to accompany the dancers of the famed “Ballet Russes,” it is Ravel’s longest and most ambitious score, with music depicting wood nymphs and sprites, a wind machine, and the unforgettable final “Bacchanale.”
