Music has always been more than a background soundtrack for our newest team member—it’s been a source of joy, connection, and purpose. We’re thrilled to welcome our new Development Director to the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, whose passion for the arts and deep roots in music are helping to shape the organization’s future.
Her musical journey began at just six years old, sitting at a piano bench with eager fingers and big dreams. Over the years, that love evolved through playing the flute in school bands, where she discovered her favorite part of music: the collective power of sound.
“My favorite thing about being in a band was how collectively we were able to create a much larger and beautiful sound together, and that every player contributes,” she shares.
Those early ensemble experiences taught her something profound: music is a conversation, one without words, where collaboration and creativity create something far bigger than the sum of its parts.
While she always cherished the arts, she knew her path wouldn’t be on stage, but behind the scenes, supporting those who are. “I was excited to support musicians and help bring the joy of music to others,” she explains. That calling led her to arts administration, and ultimately to fundraising, where her favorite part is building relationships with others who care deeply about the future of the arts.
“It’s a privilege to hear people’s stories and passions and then work together toward a shared goal: keeping music vibrant, accessible, and impactful for generations to come.”
Why the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir? Why Now?
Joining the Choir at this exciting moment in its growth feels like perfect timing. She sees a tremendous opportunity to connect new supporters to ISC’s mission and help fuel the next chapter through community partnerships and philanthropy.
“I’m excited to see how we can partner with more people in the community to spread the love of choral music,” she says. “It’s clear this organization is full of vision, heart, and opportunity—and I’m honored to be part of it.”
Armed with a Master’s Degree in Philanthropic Studies and her CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credential, she brings a strong foundation of knowledge, ethics, and strategy to her role. Her approach is intentional and people-centered, focused not only on gifts and goals but on building long-term trust and shared impact.
“The CFRE gave me the confidence to approach development work with a data-informed, mission-aligned lens,” she explains. “Every fundraising effort should reflect our values and strengthen our connection to the community.”
At the heart of her work is a belief in the power of music to bring people together. “Music is a shared emotional language that connects people across backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences,” she says. Whether in a concert hall or a rehearsal room, she has seen firsthand how music fosters a sense of belonging, not just for performers but for audiences, donors, and community members alike.
“In a world that can feel divided, the arts remind us that we’re part of something bigger. That’s why I’m passionate about supporting and growing musical communities—they uplift, inspire, and unite us.”
In her first year, she’s focused on listening, learning, and forging meaningful connections. From one-on-one meetings with patrons to community events and celebrations, she wants to hear the stories that shape the Choir’s vibrant ecosystem.
“My goal is to foster a culture of gratitude and connection that strengthens the Choir’s foundation and inspires others to invest in its future.”
She also wants more people to know that every donation—big or small—is a powerful investment. “It’s not just about funding performances—it’s about ensuring access, preserving culture, and creating spaces for expression and community,” she says. “Supporting the arts is supporting the soul of a city.”
When she’s not working, Allie enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and their daughter, Sodeska—her greatest joys. Whether it’s hiking, taking photos, watching a great film, or exploring Indiana’s rich arts scene, she believes in making space for what inspires and grounds her.
And if you’re wondering what you might not know about her? She once spent a summer in Greece excavating ancient tombs. “That experience gave me a deep appreciation for history and storytelling,” she shares. “In a way, I still see my role today as helping uncover and preserve the stories that matter.”
We’re incredibly grateful to have her on our team, and we can’t wait to see how her leadership will shape the future of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. If you see her at an upcoming performance or event, say hello and share your story.
Because together, we make the music possible. 🎶
